Texas-born S.F. Brownrigg epitomizes the genre-film auteur, having produced and directed a handful of effective regional low-budget horror films in the 70’s, often utilizing some of the same actors. His films are a perfect example of less being more, as their meager production values actually added to their dark, brooding atmosphere. We’re particularly fond of the cheap, creepy thrills of Brownrigg’s Don’t Look in the Basement and Don’t Open the Door!, and this poster for Keep My Grave Open seems to promise the same. Besides, we’re suckers for movies which use the imperative in their titles (like Drag Me to Hell, Don’t Go in the House, and Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia).
